 | | Photo by Marco Calandra | | "This picture was taken in the "Valle del Bove" in Sicily, Italy. On October 26th, 2013, the volcano Etna began to erupt. I spent the whole night there with my cousin to film and photograph the eruption, to have a memory, not only a mental memory, but also a visual one. I used a Nikon D7000 with a Nikon Af-s DX 18-105 f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR. The settings were Focal Length: 21mm with shutter speed at 20 secs and aperture f/4 with ISO: 1000. I know, I could have photographed it at f/16 to get more details in the picture, but the lava was too hot and in that case the tent and the lava would have resulted over exposed. F/4 was a great setting to use because I avoided any movement of the stars to show :) It was pure adventure that inspired me to take this shot. This photo is a reminder of our adventure that night." - Marco |

Generally I’m very comfortable as a photographer and I always get the shoots that I wish for. Taking pictures of a newborn child is obviously not an easy task, but always truly unforgettable and thrilling.
