"I used a Canon 6D Camera with a Tokina AT-X 16-28mm F2.8 Pro FX lens at 1/38 Shutter speed and ISO 100. The Focal lenght was set at 22mm and F8. I also used a Manfrotto Tripod 055 carbon fiber with Manfrotto ball head plus a Canon cable release. After taking the shot I did editing in Photomatix and Lightroom 5. Arches NP is one of the most extensively photographed national parks in America, so I always challenge myself to leave with something truly unique. I opted to stay the extra day to photograph Tower Arch, but left before sunset because of an approaching storm. On my way out, I kept a sharp eye on it and used it for a dramatic background for a few landmarks, ending with this unique HDR photo of Courthouse Rock. I opted for an HDR photo to really crank up the drama and contrast between the red rocks and the very dramatic, backlight storm. It's experiences like this that lure me back to the beauty of the Colorado Plateau year after year." - Jared
