 | | Photo by Robert Bowman | | "This photo was taken in my front yard in Carson City, Nevada while me and my two youngest boys were raking up all of the leaves that had fallen from our tree in the front yard. We would rake all of the leaves into a large pile and then the boys would jump into the pile. So I grabbed one of my cameras which happened to be my Canon Rebel XSI and using a Tamron 17-35mm lens. I began shooting as the boys played and jumped into the leaf pile. My two dogs were also in the front yard playing with the boys while we were doing yard work and jumping into the leaf piles. After taking a few pictures of my two boys jumping into the pile of leaves I decided to get a couple of them jumping out of the pile after being buried in the leaves. At which point my little dog "Mouse" decided to come over and play in the leaves with the boys too. To my suprise she climbed into the pile and while rolling onto her back let the boys completely bury her in the leaves, so I positioned myself directly above her in the pile and this was one of the images I captured. I was shooting at F5.6, ISO 100, my shutter speed was set at 1/250 to freeze any movement and I was shooting using only natural light. It was a semi cloudy day so the natural light was nicely diffused by the clouds. This just goes to show you that as a photographer you need to be on your toes with a camera in hand and be ready to capture what ever image presents itself to you." - Robert |
