"I took this photo between the riverbanks of the Po river in Italy. I love to shoot macro photography in these type of locations in the early morning, right after the sunrise. I visit this location every week and during the summer I found a lot of damselflies. I took this photo with my Nikon D7100 camera with a 60mm micro lens and extension tubes. Additionally, to bring out more detail and depth of field, I used the focus stacking technique." - Alberto

MOPA Photojournalism Photo Contest Winners

Thank you to all the photographers that shared their unique entries to the Photojournalism Contest. Photojournalists show us a world most people would never get to see. From war-torn countries to championship sports, their images convey some of the most inspiring moments as well as some of the most heartbreaking. The Museum of Photographic Arts, through the Pictures of the Year International exhibition, celebrates the power of these images and the people who create them. This contest was held in collaboration with MOPA, the mission of the Museum of Photographic Arts is to inspire, educate and engage the broadest possible audience through the presentation, collection, and preservation of photography, film, and video. Among other prizes, the winners will be featured in MOPA’s website!

A big thank you to Danny Cappiello for helping us with the winners selection, Danny is the MOPA marketing & communications manager.
